You're invited to join us for fab fridays, our newest weekly event at l.a.cool, celebrating the philosophy of fab - functional, ageless, and beautiful pieces. Come enjoy great company, do a little (or a lot of) shopping, and sip on delicious drinks made by our fabulous guest bartenders!
fab fridays will happen most Fridays this summer from 4-6pm at l.a.cool. It's the perfect way to kick off your weekend in style. Each week we'll invite women from the community to be our guest bartenders. They bring their unique charm and talents to create signature drinks and add a special touch to the event.
fab fridays are a completely complimentary event, there's no need to get a ticket or RSVP! Just grab a friend and come on down to join in on the fun.We encourage you to put on your most FAB-oulous outfit to show off your unique personal style, whether is chic, edgy, or classically cool. Dress to impress and embrace the fab fridays vibe.

Friday, May 26th - Kristin Lutz
Kristin Lutz is a top-tier published decorator, unintentional influencer, the worst-ranked driver in grand traverse county by her three kids. She trademarked the mauve nail before it was cool, could survive on granola for 6 days, and prefers a pinot grigio liquid diet.

Friday, June 2nd - Chelsea Cooper
Chelsea is a fractional Chief Marketing Officer and founder/owner of CSC Strategic - a digital marketing agency that specializes in growth marketing strategies and data-driven social media storytelling. She is also a dirty martini connoisseur, self-appointed expert on snack foods and lover of all things fashion.
She will be serving us fresh looks and Fresh Vine Wine.
Friday, June 9th - Julie Hearne
Julie Hearne is the founder and owner of downtown's quintessential crepe shop, Millie & Pepper, named after her adorable two dogs, Millie and Pepper. She founded the shop in 2017 as a modern general store with well made, high end home goods, clothing, and art. During the second year, she added a small crepe stand. Unexpectedly, crepes began to take over the show. She's always had a passion for food, and by growing into a restaurant, Millie and Pepper has allowed her to share her passion with not only her friends and family, but the entire town!

Friday, June 16th - Kristy Kurjan & Leslie Cooper
Kristy Kurjan is an abstract artist out of Traverse City, Michigan. Her passion lies in the process of creating art that evokes emotion and brings joy to others. Water, landscapes, and organic beauty are often the inspirations behind her work. In addition to art, she has published four children's books and written for numerous publications. Mother to three kids, she is always on the move...either playing tennis, taking in fashion from l.a.cool, or enjoying a cocktail on the boat!
Leslie Cooper is a serial entrepreneur, having multiple businesses spanning decades as COO of a performance based consulting firm, a 7x published health and fitness cookbook author and a custom gemstone jewelry designer. Her perfect day would be to play tennis in the morning, ski in the afternoon, work in the garden, and then cook a healthy meal with exceptional wine for dinner with close friends and family.
Come sip on gin & tonics while admiring artwork & jewelry from these amazing local artists. Let the fab friday be-gin!
Friday, June 23rd - Anneliese & Robin Zak
Anneliese & Robin Zak are a fabulous mother-daughter duo and some of Lisa's closest friends from her hometown, Wisconsin. Anneliese was integral in the branding process of l.a.cool, and Robin has been one of our biggest supporters since the beginning. They love to play tennis, bake, and take care of their sweet pets. We are so excited to introduce them to our amazing Traverse City community.

Friday, June 30th - Marissa Wege & Marta Couturier
Marissa is a Traverse City native and returned to raise her family after living away. She loves connecting people, creative solutions, and enjoying life. She began her business to highlight and support new businesses and talent in the area; she created a list for her friends and clients to share her favorite with and was encouraged to publish it, and so she did. The Northern Migration Field Guide is available at Farm Club as well as AuSable. She also spends her time buying and selling real estate, managing, designing, decorating houses, and spending time with her two boys.
Marta grew up in Poland and has lived in Traverse City for 15 years. She enjoys living on the peninsula with her two boys. A leader in the mortgage industry, Marta has recently received the eagle award for being the top sales agent in Michigan for Independent Bank. She loves fashion, food, travel, and, in another lifetime will be an EDM DJ! A dream of Marta’s is to own a vacation home in La Jolla, CA so she can enjoy sunshine in the winter time. Marta loves connecting with friends and colleagues & is continually learning and growing, both personally and professionally. *Fun fact: Marta loves to cook and entertain. She is a hostess with the mostest!

Friday, July 14th - Monica Beck & Steve Fairbanks
Monica Beck and Steve Fairbanks will be serving the "ooo l.a l.a." cocktail on July 14, in honor of l.a.cool and Bastille Day! The "ooo l.a. l.a." is Steve's creation Think strawberry, spritzy, and summer. Steve, an accomplished mixologist, has worked at some of the finest restaurants in New York, Chicago, and Traverse City, including Danny Meyer's North End Grill, Michelin-starred Dressler, and Sunda. He is a sales associate as Serra Sabaru, and Monica is an attorney at The Fierberg National Law Group. Together they can often be found with their three rescue dogs, huddled over a Scrabble board engaged in "friendly" competition, and generally loving living in Northern Michigan.
