Lisa's Spring/Summer Favorites

The perfect spring/summer wardrobe for me is both casual and classic. My selections should be versatile enough to be worn several ways. And with the unpredictable weather, I need to be able to layer pieces to reflect both the weather and my mood. I want to feel comfortable and cool at the same time.

It all begins with the perfect tee. I like to wear white tees with just about everything. ATM makes the best everyday tees. I have a lot already but like to refresh them every spring. I also chose several other solid colors by TWP; these are the softest tees I’ve ever worn, and they just can’t make them in enough colors. Finally, a classic navy and white stripe tee by Allude. I mean, we are on the water, and what a perfect nautical accent to my wardrobe.

Other good tops include a warm mock-neck sweater by Toteme for colder nights, and light-weight sweaters by TWP in navy and yellow for layering. Everyone should own a couple of white tank tops and white button-down shirts. I picked ones here by Agolde, Closed, TWP, and Odeeh, but there are so many more in store to look at.For jackets, I chose a navy poplin blazer by TWP that looks casual or dressy depending on how you style it. I like to belt it over a skirt or layer it over a short sleeve sweater or top. While it looks traditional, it has zippers at the sleeves to add a bit of fun. Or instead of a blazer, try a trench coat – one of the hot trends this year. I love this one by Closed that is cropped and boxy. Very cool.

For bottoms I picked a couple of skirts, a traditional khaki midi skirt by Kallmeyer, and a blue pleated midi skirt by Tibi. They can be dressed up with a kitten heel and belted top or kept casual with a flip flop and a tee or tank. I also picked two pairs of casual cotton pants, the oversized, wideleg Clemence pant in ecru by Kallmeyer, and the New Didi pleated cotton pant in olive by TWP. These are great everyday pants that can also be elevated for a dinner downtown with the navy blazer.

I love a dress, so no wardrobe is complete without a dress or two. Kallmeyer’s white maxi tee dress is a favorite. I would wear it with flip flops, sandals or sneakers. Wrap a sweater around your waist or over your shoulders in case it gets cold. I also grabbed a sundress by Alix of Bohemia. What a pretty dress for a warm day or evening. Feminine but functional.

Finally, I love an outfit. The Loulou Studio linen vest and pant set is so cute, and very “of the moment.” I would also wear the vest with the khaki skirt or cotton pants. A tank or tee would look cute under the vest, or it could be worn on its own.

And you can’t forget the accessories. I am not a fan of heels, so I would choose a flip flop, sandal, or kitten heel (if I wanted to elevate the look a bit more) to wear with everything in the collection. Adding a belt to a pant or over a sweater can polish a look off a bit more. I am obsessed with the Kallmeyer tote – perfect to take shopping, especially to the Farmer’s Market. The Mansur Gavriel brown handbag is an easy over-the-shoulder or crossbody accessory for everyday. Tie a scarf to the strap and create chic new look.

I like to keep my jewelry simple. I wear the same rings and watch everyday, so what can I wear with them? Simple gold hoop earrings, and a delicate gold necklace would add just the right amount of glamour.

This was fun. Hope you like my choices.
